WisGateOS 2 unifies the user experience for the WisGate Edge line while providing a feature-rich gateway environment
Easy Customization
WisGateOS 2 supports logo customization and user can control breathing lights, patterns and colors.
Simplified User Interface
The tooltips, intuitive UI and extensive dashboards make it a breeze to navigate through gateway configurations and monitoring options.
Extended Accessory Interactions
The new OS offers increased versatility to your deployment via accessory management and monitoring, such as when integrating
WisGate Edge Pro and
Battery Plus.
Improved Security
WisGateOS 2 is based on the latest version of OpenWrt (v21.02) and was developed following Secure Software Development Life Cycle (SSDLC) standards.
Interaction With the RAK Ecosystem
WisDM
WisGateOS 2 is integrated with RAK’s device management - WisDM. This allows for the remote management of gateways and their firmware. It also helps scale projects without requiring additional human capital and provides useful monitoring and metrics collection.
Built-in Network Server
WisGateOS 2 incorporates and supports a Built-in LoRaWAN Network Server (LNS). This provides a fast and reliable solution for launching a LoRaWAN network without the need for a third-party LNS.
Customization Ready
Through the Extensions Marketplace, users can add features and tools to customize and meet the needs of any project. This collection of custom plugins and add-ons enrich the gateway’s functionality with options that are not provided out of the box.
The available on-demand Software Development Kit (SDK) will allow anyone to create their own extensions to customize their setup. (Coming soon) Extensions can be managed through the WisDM remotely.

LBT (Listen Before Talk) is a protocol that allows multiple devices to share the same channels without packet collisions.
Listen Before Talk
It scans the spectral band where the gateway is operating and provides information for channels and interferences.
Spectral Scan
This enables sending a single message to a group of pre-configured end devices.
Multicasting
Firmware over the air (FOTA) offers remote updating of end device settings and firmware.
