To fully utilize the Application’s functionality, you must consent to provide information in different scenarios as shown in Table 1.
Table 1
Data item | Necessity | Purpose | Legal grounds |
LoRaWAN Operation Data | Mandatory | To set configuration for your device, to operate per the LoRaWAN protocol | Performance of a contract with you |
Device model | Optional (functionality is limited if not provided) | To upgrade the firmware | Performance of a contract with you |
Firmware Version | Optional (functionality is limited if not provided) | To upgrade the firmware | Performance of a contract with you |
LNS Server Credentials | Optional (functionality is limited if not provided) | To help you to automatically communicate between your device and your server | Performance of a contract with you |
We do not store any of your data. All the data acquired from you will be discarded once the task is completed.
Upon opting to upgrade the firmware, we collect your device model and current firmware version information, which is securely transmitted to our server hosted on AWS in Frankfurt, Europe. This data is analyzed to determine if your device requires a firmware upgrade. We do not retain your data once the firmware update process is complete.
If you decide not to connect your device directly to your own server or a server of your choosing, you have two options for allowing us to facilitate communication between your device and your server:
(a) Provide the Application with the LNS server account and password each time you need to use the feature. The Application will discard this information once the task is completed.
(b) Provide the Application with the LNS server account and password, and choose to store them on your own computer. The Application will also collect the address and port of the LNS server API endpoint URL. The LNS server account and password, together with the address and port of the LNS server API endpoint URL, constitute the ‘LNS Server Credentials’ in Table 1. The ‘LNS Server Credentials’ will be stored in encrypted text on local disk of your own computer. Give the Application permission to read this ‘LNS Server Credentials’ information from your computer. The Application will use this solely to enable communication between your end device and your server, and will not send the ‘LNS Server Credentials’ information anywhere else. Once the task is finished, the Application will not retain the LNS server account or password. Next time it will still need to read from your computer.
We do not sell or rent out your data. We may share your data only if it is necessary for the performance of our undertakings with you and our legitimate interest in maintaining and developing the Application.
Your device's model and firmware version are sent to our server (located in Frankfurt,
Europe, on AWS) only when you choose to upgrade your device remotely. We do not
receive any other data from you during the upgrade process. Additionally, the Application
does not transmit any of your data to us in any other scenarios.
To facilitate the firmware upgrade process and ensure its performance, we may share your
device's model and firmware version with:
a. Our affiliates if necessary due to our corporate structure;
b. our subcontractors and team members (e.g., support team, technical team).;
c. Third-party solutions integrated within the Application (e.g.: Amazon Web Services for
data storage located in Frankfurt, Germany)
Your device's model and current firmware version will be sent to our server hosted on AWS. This information will be used to determine whether a firmware upgrade is available. Once the upgrade process is complete, your device's model and firmware version details will be permanently discarded and will not be retained.
Note that we and the aforementioned recipients may be located in jurisdictions that may not ensure the same level of data protection as your country of residence. We will endeavor to protect your data while it is processed, stored, or transferred.
